Avviso archiviato

"Meet-EU” is an international, team-based course organised by the 4EU+ member universities as part of the 4EU+ joint educational offer during the academic year 2022/2023.

Meet-EU is a bioinformatics course in which the students are invited to address and solve a specific problem. The students are organized in small groups (~4-5 students) supervised by a tutor. Each group work independently to propose a solution. At mid-course, a meeting in presence will be organized, the activities performed by each groups will be discussed and the groups will be pair up to support their activities. In the final meeting, each group will present the obtained results that will be evaluated by a panel of experts. This year the course is focused on the structural bioinformatics and the topic involves virtual screening campaigns on the Sars-Cov-2 helicase (Nsp-13). Each group will develop a computational procedure for virtual screening and will identify potential Nsp-13 inhibitors.

Course dates: The course will start at 11th October and then the activities of the groups will be autonomously organized under the tutor supervision. The course will include some initial common tutorial lessons.

Language of instruction: English.

Assessment methods and conditions for obtaining credit: The course is based on group work and each group will conduct independent research activities delivering a presentation (each student group has to comprise participants from different universities). Essays will be presented at a face-to-face or online (to be confirmed) conference in February 2023.

ECTS recognition is done at the home university and faculty.
